hi, i'm Trent. they/them. 05-11-95.
i know this website is mostly in character but let's get a little ~personal~ for funsies. welcome to my little corner of the web. the older i get and the more i process my decades-old relationship with the internet, the more i realize how toxic the relationship can be. you may know me from the music i've made in the past - obviously in part due to the social media aspect of it. i'm thankful for everyone who has listened and kept up, but part of the reason i have not put out music as i used to in the past few years is due to the social media aspect in general. from straight up fascist takeovers of certain social media sites to harvesting of your data and everything in between. though this is a multi faceted issue and i'm not about to use my 'about' as a diary, i've realized that having a space just for me to express myself without the parts i'm aprehensive about is probably a healthy decision.
this site is the intersection of everything that makes me: "me". music made on computers, sound design, and the animals in my head. this is mostly told through the lense of the characters in my worldbuilding project "DOG PARK RECORDINGS". i like to explore relationships and perspectives with my work. my work as an adult is also a lot different than what you may be used to hearing out of me if you are familiar with my old work. this old work is archived as it does serve to show my foundation.
i was born in Seattle, raised in CFL, lived my adult life in Nashville, and now i live in Savannah, GA. i like to get around. i started playing guitar at a young age and started making music on computers (MIDI, .nsf) shortly after. as a shut-in trying to learn how to make music on computers, i'd spend a lot of unsupervised time on the internet where i'd come across miupix 'Peaches & Cream', then becoming familiar with the concept of 'furry'. i became interested mostly as a vehicle for branding at first, but as i'd become older i'd find myself far more interested in furry as a vehicle for expression. this ties back into exploring perspective through my work. when making a fursona one would typically ask "what animal would i be?". but let's rephrase that line of questioning. how about "what animal am i>". that then opens up the door to "what am i?". and now you're thinking. this relationship between humankind and our animal counterparts is so interesting. drawing paralells between the two to help answer questions not so innate to me that pertain to my experience is the crux of my work. i don't want to bog my 'about' down to anything past the basics, but i'm actually that serious about the furry shit.
as far as i go: i like going on hikes and seeing new places in nature. it's preferred to being out in more "social" settings. i obviously enjoy being on the computer, though the computer is mostly for making music. i don't keep modern with games. i'll speedrun some Sonic games and play some Melee and that's about it. i play Pokemon TCG, hit me up on Live if you wanna play :P maybe i'll make a personal blog to go here to keep up with my special interests and stuff sometime down the line? not sure if i want this site to be more work-focused or if i should balance personal stuff with it or what. i'm kinda figuring it out as i go along. thanks for reading and lots of love <3
